Mark Aaron was a typical American husband with a steady job as a historical researcher for the Nora Corporation until he dies in a plane crash in 2004. That is when his problems begin. He awakens, in an android body, in the year 2372, and he discovers that he is an unwilling participant in a plot to change history. Through an accident, he is able to break free from his human controller, and he, and his android companion Jane, must now travel back to the year 1842 to stop the first of five other androids who were sent back to murder important historical figures before they became important. Should Mark fail in his quest, history will be changed and humanity itself could come to an end.
